In accordance with Folha Online, the purchase of pirated films, CDs and other products, greatly contributes to the growth of an industry which is in the hands of international criminal organizations and piracy gangs located in the country.

Great part of the counterfeited goods comes from Asia, where the molds are manufactured and reproduced in large scales for distribution around the world, including Brazil, further to the National Council for the Combat against Piracy and Crimes of Intellectual Property – CNCP, connected to the Ministry of Justice.
