The Fourth Panel of the Brazilian Superior Court of Justice has expanded the scope of Article 9 of Law 9.609, 1998 (Software Law), helding that the presentation of the licensing agreement or the tax invoice are not the only means to prove the authenticity and regularity of the use of software.

In the case judged by the Superior Court, the alleged infringer company had submitted the original installation disks of the software pointed out as illegal.
