On December 13, 2016, the University of Paris V – Descartes, together with the Centre Français de Droit Comparé, the Centre de Droit des Affaires et de Gestion, the [email protected] Laboratory and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promoted the Colloquium “Propriété(s) et Données” in order to discuss topics related to the current challenges of Data Protection.

During the event, experts from several countries discussed the latest developments in legislation, including case laws concerning the protection and commercialization of information with commercial value, focusing on the impact over the economic players.

Karlo Fonseca Tinoco, partner of Bhering Advogados, delivered a lecture on “The Nature of Corporate Information Assets According to Brazilian Law” with an emphasis on the practical aspects of the protection of trade secrets in Brazil. The panelists also discussed the protection of trade secrets in France, Switzerland, Canada and European Union.
