On June 25, 2019, President Bolsonaro signed Brazil’s instrument of accession to the Madrid Protocol, which was submitted on July 2, 2019 by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Under the terms of the agreement, the Madrid Protocol comes into force internationally three months after the deposit of the accession term.
